A New Paradigm

A couple of people have mentioned to me that they noticed a shift in the tone around here when lil Ms. Zoebird came home.

It's true.

Courage and I had such a complicated relationship. Off again, on again, with twists and turns and ups and downs.

It's not that Zoe and I won't have our differences, because I'm sure we will. It's not even that we're in the glowing honeymoon phase of a new relationship, which we are.

Zoebird just brings a whole different energy. She's calm. She's so smart. She's a thinker. She shows up, she tries hard, and she's good to be around.

She makes every day fun.
O HAI
We aren't doing cool advanced stuff. We're doing baby mare stuff. You know. Steering. Ground work. Stop. Go. Eat cookies.

And yeah, I enjoy every minute.

    amazing what happens when it becomes FUN again - and not just fun, but like.... uncomplicated. i'm so happy for you - she really looks wonderful in the pics too!

    It has been really nice to read some simple, happy, FUN posts from you lately. I enjoy the difficult, thought-provoking posts too -- but you can tell just from reading that you're HAPPY and I love that

    Life with Courage was tough to read about most days. As your (bloggy) friend I wanted more happiness for you, less struggle, more wins, especially given the amount of effort you were putting in. It's like watching a friend be in a toxic relationship. Not that either party was inheritantly bad, it just wasn't a match made in heaven. This partnership is though it seems. I'm over the moon for you and look forward to tuning in each day!

      It's such a complicated topic. I learned so much from him and I'm grateful for the time that I had and he definitely made me a better horseman and a better human, but when it was over, I was ready to be done.

    I'm so glad she is working out well for you.

    I noticed a similar shift in myself when I sold my old pony and bought a new horse, one that is much better suited to me.

    Yeah!!! That is completely how I felt when Felix came into my life ❤️❤️ It is the best and such a relief to have a horse you can trust to be consistent and steady 99% of the time.
