A couple of people have mentioned to me that they noticed a shift in the tone around here when lil Ms. Zoebird came home.

It's true.
Courage and I had such a complicated relationship. Off again, on again, with twists and turns and ups and downs.
|
such hair <3 |
It's not that Zoe and I won't have our differences, because I'm sure we will. It's not even that we're in the glowing honeymoon phase of a new relationship, which we are.

Zoebird just brings a whole different energy. She's calm. She's so smart. She's a thinker. She shows up, she tries hard, and she's good to be around.

and she's fanceh! |
She makes every day fun.

O HAI |
We aren't doing cool advanced stuff. We're doing baby mare stuff. You know. Steering. Ground work. Stop. Go. Eat cookies.
And yeah, I enjoy every minute.

Glad you're happier 😀 miss ZB is so lovely.
ReplyDeleteI think so. I'm also biased.
DeleteShe looks so shiny! Enjoy it! There are ups and downs and I'm so glad it's all just UP right now
ReplyDeleteShe is so shiny!
Deleteamazing what happens when it becomes FUN again - and not just fun, but like.... uncomplicated. i'm so happy for you - she really looks wonderful in the pics too!
ReplyDeleteYeah the uncomplicated is huge for me right now.
DeleteIt has been really nice to read some simple, happy, FUN posts from you lately. I enjoy the difficult, thought-provoking posts too -- but you can tell just from reading that you're HAPPY and I love that
ReplyDeleteHopefully we can combine happy and thought provoking eventually. ;-) Baby steps.
DeleteBabies are so much fun!
ReplyDeleteI had no idea!
DeleteI'm going to anthropomorphize a bit and say she looks pretty happy too!
ReplyDeleteShe seems pretty happy, but I also don't think she's hard to please.
DeleteLove the ZB!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYes!
DeleteLife with Courage was tough to read about most days. As your (bloggy) friend I wanted more happiness for you, less struggle, more wins, especially given the amount of effort you were putting in. It's like watching a friend be in a toxic relationship. Not that either party was inheritantly bad, it just wasn't a match made in heaven. This partnership is though it seems. I'm over the moon for you and look forward to tuning in each day!
ReplyDeleteIt's such a complicated topic. I learned so much from him and I'm grateful for the time that I had and he definitely made me a better horseman and a better human, but when it was over, I was ready to be done.
DeleteThat makes total sense!
DeleteSometimes, it takes a tumultuous relationship with the wrong one to appreciate the right one when they come along...
ReplyDeleteThe complications with Courage definitely have made me grateful for what I have with Zoe.
DeleteYay for happy pony posts!
ReplyDeleteYes!
DeleteSo much happy.
ReplyDeleteVery happy. Even happy to spare for silver medalists WHO NEED TO WRITE A BLOG.
DeleteI'm so glad she is working out well for you.
ReplyDeleteI noticed a similar shift in myself when I sold my old pony and bought a new horse, one that is much better suited to me.
That's awesome. :-)
DeleteIt's amazing how much more fun it is when the horse really feels like a good partner :)
ReplyDeleteYeah!!! That is completely how I felt when Felix came into my life ❤️❤️ It is the best and such a relief to have a horse you can trust to be consistent and steady 99% of the time.
ReplyDeleteYes exactly.
Deletei look forward to the ZB adventures that await us all. Enjoy the fun times! You earned them! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing how it feels when we find what we have been looking for after all that time :)
ReplyDelete<3 exactly
DeleteYeah, if you brought her home and weren't acting like this we'd have problems. Cause she's a unicorn
ReplyDeleteSo true.
DeleteI'm so happy for you Aimee! Really, every post your write about my Z makes my heart full!
ReplyDeleteAw I'm glad. :-)
