just keep swimming |
My goal is always to be fair to my horse. Sometimes that means staying home instead of trekking out to the barn if I am not in the right mental place. Sometimes it means going to the barn and spending an hour with a rubber curry and just letting the horsey essence soak through me.
Sometimes it means dragging all my english shit out to the barn so my friend can ride and I can laugh my ass off about how I've completely broken the trot and now only have a jog.

I officially (eek!) joined a local horsemen's group that specializes in mountain trail riding and does trail clearing projects. The people could not have been nicer and I immediately got invited to tag along this past weekend on a local ride, which would be THE FIRST TIME PUTTING MY HORSE IN MY TRAILER TO TRAIL RIDE.
But alas the universe thought that it was a great weekend to get the flu.
So.
Raincheck.
Let the record show that I have loaded her up and done a test haul and it went FINE. I just haven't done the real thing yet. That's the bummer about buying a trailer in January--the weather is shit and you can't use it.
It's not January any more. I'm mostly over the flu. Cross your fingers on the life stuff.
Oh man, the universe can be so cruel! I hope you're feeling better asap and can get out for some fun with Zoe!
ReplyDeleteThe group sounds wonderful. You won’t always be sick.
ReplyDeleteHate that the universe was not aligned with your first adventure, but love the bright sides - Warmer weather will hopefully bring more opportunity for fun adventures :) Hope you're back to 100% soon!
ReplyDelete*crosses fingers and toes* That horseman's group sounds like an excellent opportunity! Hope life enables you to have the time and energy to join them next time!
