Last weekend, I took my pilfered camera to the big recognized dressage show that's local to me.
this blog is about me and my horse but since i took these pictures, i give myself permission to use them
I love hanging out behind the camera because I can take everything in while staying completely invisible.
i am trying to keep pictures anonymous though

I watched people ride beautiful horses.

Looked at the fancy ribbons.

Enjoyed the flow of well-ridden tests.

And I'd be lying if I said I wanted to do that right now.

Honestly, just being there made me nauseous.
I'm struggling to put into words just how much I enjoy letting ZB be my safe space and my happy place. I show up and just enjoy every moment with her.

There's no pressure. It doesn't matter if we accomplish something today or tomorrow or next year or ten years from now.
outfits always matter
I love her bold curves and zero-shits-given attitude. My hearts melts when she whinnies her daily greeting.

She makes every day a fun adventure.
she is her own lady
Objectively, I want to show again.

Not today.

Not tomorrow.
matching sparkle hats!
From now until then, I'll just be enjoying my best lady.

  1. Oh my goodness I love that fly bonnet! You both are just super adorable together!

  2. The equestrians I admire the most are those who know what they want to do with their horse(s) and who wholeheartedly pursue that. Whether it's enjoying hand grazing, trail riding, lessons or showing makes no difference to me -- I just love seeing people enjoying their horses <3 <3 <3

  3. honestly the vast majority of riders i know don't compete. and of those who do, most only do one or two small local (or home barn) things a year. it's easy in the blogosphere to get this amplified idea that the only meaningful thing to do with horses is compete.... but that's definitely not the case in the real world. i'm glad you're focusing instead on enjoying horses on your terms.

    1. I mean, I do want to win giant ribbons eventually. Those are pretty great.

  4. Showing isn't the end all be all - you seem like you're living the best purpose of owning horses! Also your outfit game slays.

  5. That purple is everything on her.

    1. Basically I have everything purple and one pink pad. #winning

  6. All in due time. She's a young horse and there's no reason to push her and blow her mind. You guys have plenty of years ahead of you to go out and show- or not. Whatever will be, will be. Enjoy it.

  7. Totes Jealy on the outfits....
