Total Eclipse of the Zoebird

Zoe's barn is at 99.6% totality for yesterday's eclipse. My plans to go north to 100% fell through, so I was at the barn watching with my best girl instead.

I know animals are smarter than people about not staring at the sun but I couldn't be too careful with Ms. ZB.

It was pretty cool--the temperature dropped ten degrees and it got darkish and we sun the sun snakes.

So much for theories of animals going berserk or whatever. None of the horses or barn cats cared at all.
IS A ZOZO BIRD
I knew I could count on animals to have good sense.
cool light!
I look forward to seeing the photos from yesterday's event--such a cool time to be alive.

  2. I laughed at the animals going berserk thing. I rode Booger for the first time in six months right at the peak. She was fine. Well, she bucked at a bomber fly, but I don't think that's weird...

    1. Yeah. They were more upset by me wearing a welding helmet around like a freak. Except Zoë who really just didn't care.

  4. Cuteness. I loved Andrea G's FB post about animals & the eclipse on Sunday "you horse has taken and interest in astronomy..."

  5. Apparently there were a lot of horses coming in to Idaho Equine that were colicing. But everyone was fine at my house! And none of the neighbors were sacrificing animals or having sex during totality to produce a god, so that was also good.
