Let the Good Times Roll

So much exciting pony news and only a little bit of it is mine.

Bacon over the teeny box. Photo credit: me.
I spent the whole weekend out of town playing at a horse show pretending to be a pro photog. And that's all that happened.

OH UNLESS YOU MEAN THAT ALYSSA AND BACON WERE ALL WHUPASS AT THEIR FIRST OUT OF TOWN SHOW.

So there was that. But yeah, I had oodles of fun crewing for them and totes took a bajillion (actual number) of pictures with her ridiculously fancy camera.

Babysitting ears
And then there's redheadlins' news, which is pretty freaking fantastic as well.

I got back from the clinic and hopped on my little man for the first time in 4 days. He babysat Prisoner for his first in-company arena ride and was a total champ. We even hacked though the fields on the buckle while P-man cantered around and all was well.

<3 my little bay horse.

So much Ogilvy goodness!
The only problem is that redheadlins let us use her Ogilvy baby pad.

WANT

That is all.

Well, that and the fact that I toasted my legs in the sun so badly that I can't put breeches on right now. Look for creative solutions until that situation resolves.

  1. Loooooooooove me some Ogilvy! A memory foam pad is definitely on my birthday list :) And awesome job at being a photog!

  2. Ogilvy Ogilvy Ogilvy. Obsessed. I want baby pads to go with my half pad.

  3. I've always wanted one, but they just seem so incredibly thick to me. And my saddles fit well anyways. I want it more to absorb shock from my back and Fiction's back ><; Anyways, yay for good pony times!

  4. Oh god, sunburn. The bane of my Irish-complected existence. Solutions welcomed. ;)

  5. What a lovely weekend, aside from the sunburn :)

  6. Raw Apple Cider Vinegar or virgin coconut oil for the sunburn!

Aloe works great for some people but what worked for my last sunburn was to dab a cotton ball in raw ACV and then soak my burned areas. Once that dried (almost immediately) I scooped out small bits of coconut oil (the virgin/organic/blessed by the gods) and rubbed that all over the burn. Red was gone over night!

My mom also used to slather Balmex all over us as kids (the diaper cream) - that took the burns out too.

  7. I rode in riding tights exclusively after burning my legs like crazy this summer, they are a little easier...also, put said tights in fridge prior to wearing. Yes, it's weird-and feels awesome. Don't judge.

  8. Good times. Happy days. =]
Just ride bareback in shorts or comfy sweats (you don't need breeches if you don't use a saddle, am I right?).
