Ooops or "Should've Seen that Coming"

I remain on super hateful concussion protocol, which means riding is tabled BUT THEY STILL LET ME DRIVE.

Ha.

It's winter here, which means snow and ice and occasionally, super artistic fog.
110% gross

This weekend, I wanted to see how Courage was feeling, so I put him in a great outfit to lunge him.
such curves!

But I liked my cool, arty-ish arena shot, and I thought it could be even cooler with the dressage horse standing on the only exposed patch of sand, staring off into the distance.

I set up that shot.

Courage sort of looked at me.
hooman y u so dum?

Annnnnnnnd.

Whoops.

It wasn't the arty shot I had in mind, but I guess it worked out ok?

PS Yeah it took like 10 minutes to catch him in a super tense walking chase because I DID NOT WANT him to break my favorite reins and he DID NOT WANT to play along.

But he felt great. So if I could ride. That would be something.

  1. I've played that game of trying to catch my horse and praying he didn't bust my reins. Thank god he shoves his head straight up in the air...

  2. That picture of him walking away is actually sort of cool and wistful looking ;)

    1. None of the others were even remotely interesting, so I was really glad that one came out.

  3. Sorry to hear you are still grounded but glad you weren't hurt worse in that traffic accident! I try going for artsy photos time to time and 99.9% of the time its the totally random, unplanned shot that looks the best. Go figure!

    1. I'm protective of all my tack but these are my super favorite reins I got for a song and can't replace without selling an arm.

    1. Usually he's a champion poser who I can just park anywhere.

But usually he also gets turned out/worked regularly and that isn't happening right now.

  8. This basically happens to me on the regular. The other day Pig was nearly halfway out of the parking lot before I realized he'd left the indoor. Whoops.

    1. Oh man I'd be so sad if that happened. Plus he'd probably re-pinch the nerve in his neck.

  11. You need to frame that "Loose Horse" shot and hang it in the living room!

  12. Ha ha ha. I wondered if you photoshopped yourself out to make he photo better. Then wondered if no, your horse was just on a walkabout.
